[ Dean figured it wouldn't. Sorry, Sammy. But Dean's trying to tell him in the best way possible. He's never been one for sugarcoating anything anyway, but especially after all the shit he's been through, he's a little harsher.

But he's getting better - much better. Especially with his little brother genuinely being little again. Fourteen is a wild age, impressionable, and he doesn't want to ruin whatever shot the kid may have. ]

Yeah, he's gone, Sammy. I don't see how he'd be able to come back.

[ But, you know. Just to be safe. Maybe it's time to put some angel wards on Sammy's walls. ]

[Just the thought of someone as horrific and powerful as the actual devil wanting to take him over is enough to give him nightmares. The Lucifer in his dreams is more traditional — horns, a tail. But the red glowing eyes... the angel's wings... something about the creation in his mind feels too real.

He is relieved, though. To know he's gone. That he can't just... return.

Well, he's relieved until he thinks of a possibility that churns his stomach.

Looking over at Dean, he looks — nervous.]

If people just... show up here all the time, then he could, too. Right?

In a different body. A different universe.

...Yeah, I guess he could.

[ It's a valid fear, and Sam has every right to be concerned about it. People do show up here all the time, from all different places and timelines. ]

But the thing about this place? He wouldn't be overpowered. Not like he was back home. Everyone who has any kinda ability here is nerfed. So even if he showed up, I think we could actually gank him.

[His eyes get big and somewhat awed.]

Seriously? Ganking the devil?

You think we could really do that?

[Maybe it's false hope Dean's offering, and maybe it isn't, but... it's a heck of a concept.]
